IXS Cup Innerleithen

The ISX cup landed in the UK for the first time ever recently for a round held in the Scottish boarders venue of Innerleithen. I recorded a wee chest cam for you all, so here it is.

2010 IXS Cup Innerleithen >>

The track was a real fusion with a proper euro feel to it and also a bit of standard innerleithen tightness mixed in. I think its one of the best tracks we have ridin there for a good while and definitly steped it up for the european stage. Steve from Icycles along with his minions had created a fast flowing track complete with wooded features and nice wide race tape.

I had an absolute blast riding there over the weekend. The track was a lot of fun to ride and I had sme good mates to ride with. Unfortnuately however I had a bit of a nasty crash on Saturday morning (photos can be found here http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/5141092, use the forward/back buttons to see the full sequence. Thanks Ian for standing in just the right place to get it all on camera). After this incident I was not feeling quite so well and my riding showed this. Pair this with a crash on the first corner in my race run and it leads to a not so good result. Still a fantastic weekend was had.

For Ronan the weekend didn’t go much better. Firstly with missing his seeding run and then a crash in his race. Still an 8th in Junior is not a complete disaster and with Ronan planning a full IXS season this year there are plenty races to make up for these mistakes.

I hardly saw Callum all weekend but he must have been riding well as he came in 2nd in the Masters catagory.  A good result to build on for the rest of the season.
